Arts organizations, galleries, studios, and a wide variety of local businesses feature regional and national artists as well as live entertainment starting at 5 p.m. Best explored on foot, the First Friday tradition continues to grow with up to 10,000 attendees. Most make it an evening, with dinner and drinks from a colorful array of restaurants and entertainment venues.”

The United States offers unique flavor in every state, and many states celebrate that flavor with a food festival. There are five food festivals that stand out from the crowd. 


This festival was mention as the best food festival in National Geographic Travel Magazine. This festival is in Washington DC from April to October. Truckeroo is a yearly festival that showcases the top food trucks in the area, and usually more than 20 come each day.


This festival is listed as the food event to know about in the LA Times. The LA Food Fest is in downtown Los Angeles. The fest has a summer series, called Sunday Funday, which is held every 3rd Sunday. Every fall they have a blowout fest. This year the big blowout fest will be on September 8th. The LA Food Fest is full of food trucks and vendors that are Instagram worthy and delicious. 


The city of Chicago website describes the Taste of Chicago as “nation’s premier outdoor food festival showcasing the diversity of Chicago’s di

ning community.” This festival is a four-day bash on July 11-15th  with 37 vendors. 


This festival was also mentioned as one of the best food festivals in the National Geographic Travel Magazine. This festival is held for a few days, typically in September in Kansas City, Missouri. The Royal World Series of BBQ is full of all things BBQ and music. It is a must-attend event for all the BBQ lovers!


This festival begins in the first week of August and is celebrating all things related to lobster. Making Rockland, Maine the perfect place for the seafood fanatic. The Maine Lobster Festival began in in 1947, making this year is the 71st anniversary.
